Knurling Technology

The quality standards in the premium segment mean exceptionally high requirements for the precision of knurling profiles. This is precisely where Hommel+Keller knurling technology comes into play. Individual product solutions lead to top-quality products for the customers. Perfect precision and an outstanding appearance are the decisive performance parameters for a high-quality knurling profile. Knurling technology is divided into two processes: form knurling and cut knurling.

Both processes have their own special areas of application and possible uses. While one advantage of form knurling, for example, is that it is easier to use, cut knurling is always the preferred method if the structure and quality of the end product do not allow any compromises.

Marking Technology

Without seamless marking, components can hardly be identified or traced. However, these are precisely the requirements of today’s industry.  It also has to be precise, fast and economical – just like Hommel+Kellers marking technology, which can even be integrated directly into the production process and can be used on almost all CNC turning and milling centers.

Conical or convex surfaces, on the front or up to the shoulder. Depending on the application, one differentiates between two systems: spring-return marking systems and revolving marking systems. The innovative marking systems replace manual work steps, significantly reducing setup costs and processing time. The technology offers a wide range of applications—from component marking with production data, batch numbers, and item descriptions to brand representation.

Burnishing Technology

The production of burnished surfaces with roughness depths of less than Rz <1.0 µm is the supreme discipline in turning. This is exactly what Hommel+Keller focuses on every day. Their diamond burnishing tools fulfil the challenge of below Rz <1.0 µm, their burnishing roll tools an Rz <2.0 µm. Both variants replace previously necessary subsequent processing steps and are therefore the undisputed price-performance winner. Thanks to their compact design, both can also be used in confined working spaces.

Hommel+Kellers two burnishing technologies, diamond burnishing and roller burnishing offer maximum process reliability. Thanks to short throughput times and low investments, both processes represent a high-quality and cost-effective option to alternative technologies.
